OOTD: Lime Sorbet

Here's a quick OOTD from last Saturday. It's not quite warm yet in England (when is it ever?) but this jacket is my new favorite thing as it still keeps you warm but still injects some summer colour.

I told you the coat was a goodun...

This outfit is just made up of items from two of my favorite stores; The black skinny jeans, crop top and daisy necklace are all from River Island and the jacket and shoes are both from Primark.

Whats your favorite style staple for this spring?

Soft and Moisturised Skin with Cien

Want soft and moisturised skin 24/7 but don't want to spend a fortune? Let me introduce you to Cien face creams from Lidl.

I have tried hundreds of face creams in the past few years but nothing ever seems to really work for me. I have normal skin which can get really sensitive with some facial creams which can make my whole face and neck burn and go really red. The only two creams that have really worked for me in the past is Simple's Sensitive Skin and Johnson's Baby Original. I love those two moisturisers a lot, but I started getting really dry and peeley skin around my hair line that just wouldn't go with either of these. My mum suggested I used her night cream which was a lot thicker than my usual moisturiser, When I woke up the next morning my face felt amazing and really refreshed and I instantly fell in love, but what made it better was the fact that it was only a couple of pounds from Lidl!

I decided to go to Lidl and purchase some for myself. I picked up the Aqua Moisture Cream and the Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream. I'm so glad I did as I haven't looked back since.

Aqua Moisture Cream
I use this for in the mornings after I've washed my face and before I apply my makeup. This cream is very lightweight and soaks up quickly into the skin leaving it nice and hydrated. I have normal skin and this moisturiser has not affected my makeup application or the longevity of my base products. It also hasn't caused any problems with my sensitive skin nor has it caused any break outs.

Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream
This is my first ever official night cream, I normally just use one for all occasions and purposes. This night cream has a much thicker consistency compared to the other one and takes a little while longer to sink into the skin, but boy george when it does my face feels soft as a baby's bottom.  The cream really makes my skin feel a lot more plumper, perky and firm in the mornings and I personally feel that I can actually feel the anti-wrinkle side of it working on me. I normally shy away from anything that says anti-aging or wrinkling as I'm only 20 and don't feel this concerns me as of yet but I thought it's best to start early before my face looks like a worn leather settee because no amount of cream then is gunna sort that out!

Overall I love these two products and would definitely recommend! Have you tried any other Lidl or Cien beauty products that are worth trying?

Makeup Revolution Haul & Swatches

The other day I was scrolling through the photos section on Instagram and came across the most beautiful makeup look. When I clicked on the image I noticed that the make up that was used was from a brand called Makeup Revolution. After finding this out I practically stalked them days on end until pay day and came across nothing but beautiful photos of the products in use and good comments. So when pay day came there were three things I just knew I really had to have.

Whittling it down to three was near on impossible and I could have brought everything on their website because everything looked amazing and really really affordable! I decided to go for the I Heart Chocolate palette, the Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Blusher in Candy Queen of Hearts and then the Lip Hug Lipstick in When you came to me.

Colour names L-R: You Need Love, Piece Me Together, One More Piece, Love Torn, Stolen Chocolate, Thank Friday, More!, Pleasure Girl, Meet Chocolate, Unforgivable, Love Divine, Smooth Criminal, Chocolate Love, You Need More, What A Way To Go and Endorphins Ready!
The I Heart Chocolate palette is an excellent dupe for the Two Faced Chocolate Bar palette, both sets contain exactly the same colours and they are both in the similar chocolate bar packaging. This palette is filled with beautiful warm nude colours that would make the perfect smokey eye. The thing I like about this palette is that it has a real variety of gorgeous colours and finishes to choose from with each and everyone of them having a purpose and an actual pigment. There are no duds in this palette, result!

As I just got this package today I haven't had the chance to be able to create a look with the eyeshadows and try them out properly, but from testing them out with my fingers it was love at first swatch!

Here are some swatches of the eyeshadows...

In the light
Not in the light

The Bake Blusher is another Two Faced dupe for their Sweethearts blush. Again this product didn't disappoint. The blusher is a beautiful trio of pink and coral goodness. This would look amazing either mixed all together as a blush or using one of the colours to highlight the tops of your cheek bones.

The Lip Hug Lipstick in When you came to me is a nudey coral lipstick that is perfect for everyday wear. When applying the lipstick I did find that it really did hug your lips and felt really nice once you were wearing it and it gave a decent amount of colour.

Overall I am extremely impressed with each and everyone of these products and can't believe the quality of the product and packaging for how cheap it is. The eyeshadow palette is £7.99, the baked blush is £4.99 and the lipstick is £2.50!!! I will definitely be buying some more products very soon.

Have you tried Revolution Makeup before? If so what are your favourite products so I can add them to my shopping list.

Caving into the hype - L'Oreal True Match Foundation

I always have two foundations going at once, I'm a bit of a floozy. One is for special occasions and evenings (MAC Mineralize Moisture) and the other is for everyday / going to work which needs to be something that I know will look good and is quick and easy to apply so i'm not late for my bus. I usually use the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation which I love dearly as it perfects, glows and lasts all day. AMEN.

Recently though my Healthy Mix ran out and I needed to stock up on a new everyday. I  felt adventurous this day, and I thought to myself 'you know what? I'm going to push the boat out and I'm going to pick something random and hidden that is going to be amazing and I will share my wisdom with everyone!'... Then I caved into the hype and brought the very much talked about L'Oreal True Match in Golden Ivory.

Today is the first day I have worn this foundation so I'm going to let you know my feelings so far.

Appearance - the packaging is very nice and looks quite high end. With the bottle being glass though it makes it a bit heavier than the usual which could be a trick when you're near running out.

Shade range - there's meant to be 23 shades to choose from but a lot of them in my local Boots were sold out or very low stock which shows the popularity of the product. I chose the colour Golden Ivory which matches my skin well and doesn't need much blending. I found the process of choosing my shade quite stressful though as I found that the colours looked more pinky toned and I have yellow toned skin.

I had Golden Ivory in my hand and a darker shade, when I put a swatch of Golden Ivory on my chin it looked really pale on my face yet the other colour just looked like I had been tangoed (the bright lights and crappy mirrors did not help this situation!). Luckily I went for Golden Ivory on the basis that I could always make my skin darker with bronzer and it didn't look as pale once I got it home and looked at it in natural light. Although the colour matches well it isn't perfect and I just wish it was a bit more yellow based and a tincy bit darker,

Texture & Coverage - the foundation is quite watery and easy to blend. I had to use 1 1/2 pumps to get my desired look. It still didn't cover some marks on my chin very well and I didn't want to apply anymore than I had, as my chin began to look a tad cakey.

Applying - today I applied it with a damp beauty blender as I find this the quickest way for me usually. I kind of felt the beauty blender had more of the product on it than my face - hence why I had to use an extra 1/2 pump to get my desired effect. Over the next few days I will be mixing and matching with a few of my other brushes to see what works best as I feel the Beauty Blender didn't work that well.

Wearing it & longevity - after applying the foundation I kind of forgotten I was wearing it as it is very light weight which is good but after a couple of hours I noticed that it had gone a bit patchy, dry and wrinkly in between my eyebrows, down my nose and around it. To me it looked like I had the skin of an elephant! This never normally happens to me as I have normal skin and I always moisturise so I found that a bit strange but i'm hoping its just from using the Beaut Blender. Other than that everywhere else on my face has lasted really well.

I do wish the foundation was a bit more dewy like the Healthy Mix as I love having glowy skin.

Here's me wearing it a couple hours after applying it, which I don't think looks to bad... minus the dressing gown!

I haven't fallen madly in love with the True Match just yet but it has only been a day, maybe after a couple more dates we may fall in love with each other and live happily ever after  but at the moment we are just taking it slow.
